Hello there Garden Enthusiasts!
The 2015 Secret Gardens Tour is quickly approaching, and this year is sure to be the best SGT ever! We are debuting the elegant Garden District, and the gardens we have found are absolutely breathtaking. The tour is set to be held on March 21, 2015, with private, guided tours in the morning and the self-guided tours in the afternoon. Join us to uncover the secrets of Philip, First, and Second Streets between Prytania and Magazine!
In each of the gardens we will have garden experts, who will be more than willing to describe the wonders that you’re witnessing and give tips on how to re-create those wonders in your own garden. Additionally, we invite you to come and enjoy beautiful musical performances by local artists, a floral labyrinth depicting the twists and turns of recovering from a brain and/or spinal cord injury, and gourmet food available for sale. Secret Treasures, our outdoor boutique, will be offering garden decorations, gifts, and unique artistic pieces. This will be a day full of fun, art, music, appropriate for celebrating the outdoor wonders of the city!
New this year: For the first time, The Secret Gardens Tour will start the celebration early with our Inaugural Patron Party! Hosted by Iberia Bank, our Title Sponsors for the season, the Patron Party will be on Thursday, March 19 from 6-8pm. With the theme of “The Great Outdoors,” this party is sure to be a magnificent event! Join us to try our signature cocktail, created by Martin’s Wine Cellar, and be sure to stop by to try a delectable treat from one of the local food trucks!
The seeds were sown, now things will grow! The Secret Gardens Tour, since 2004, has been working to raise awareness and funds for brain and spinal cord injury in the New Orleans community. Since its inception, we have helped to fund support groups, we have uncovered more and more resources for survivors in our community, and we have supported the Brain Injury Association of Louisiana in order to reach out to a larger population of survivors, caregivers, and professionals. We have been so successful in these endeavors that in 2015, we will be merging with the Brain Injury Association of Louisiana, in order to keep up the momentum of positive change in the Louisiana community!
Please, enjoy the beauty of the New Orleans Garden District! Your Secret Gardens Tour® ticket purchase goes directly to brain and spinal cord injury advocacy, recovery, and the improvement of resources in the State of Louisiana. Thanks for joining us!
Yours in health and healing,
Director of The Secret Gardens Tour®
